1. INTRODUCTION Specialty literature offers different specific designing methods for manufacturing systems, destined to gross production, repetitive production and sole exemplars. Regardless to the production typology, the first question in sizing manufacturing system is hat of determining the most efficient manufacturing technology. This is chosen according to technical and economical considerations and the specialty literature (Abrudan & Candea, 2002; Boncoi et al., 2002; Calefariu, 2002; Wildeman, 1999) offers solutions with this regard. According to the production typology, the next sizing steps have to be approached in a different manner.
